Embodying Antiracism Community Circle

Embodying Antiracism Community Circle

A community and an ongoing conversation devoted to culture change

In Embodying Antiracism, we began to move from an intellectual understanding of racism (and other -isms) to a deeper knowing that white folks, despite our best intentions, are socialized to perpetuate hierarchies. To be antiracist, we must continually disrupt this unconscious patterning.

We developed a shared language, studied various frameworks, and pushed ourselves to show up and connect authentically.  Each one of us who participated knows that anti-racism is an ongoing practice.

And so, knowing that “the work” is lifelong, we are ready to take the next step: committing to a community that centers “the work.”

This work can’t be done alone.

Let’s do it together.

Embodying Antiracism Community Circle

As community we will:

  • deepen our understanding of our role as culture changers
  • hold the tension between our desire for transformative action and our current skill level

  • identify and embrace the unique way each of us shows up

  • return again and again to our innermost spirals of patterning to weaken and dismantle the cycle of white supremacy culture socialization
  • meet one another (and ourselves) with compassion, humility and honesty

  • offer one another (and ourselves) generous accountability

  • work together to deepen our analysis, become more skilled and resilient in the work

Excited to link arms in this life-changing work.
